In a bid to save money I thought I’d try out a different nappy brand. We were using pampers active fit but started to find that they would dig into violets legs leaving red marks, as she’s only 18lb 3oz she is not quite ready for a size 5 yet so we decided to try tescos Fred and flow super dry nappies in size 4+. I always thought 4+ was the size in between a 4 and a 5 but to my surprise it just means the nappy is more absorbent.
First thoughts – the nappy design is cute, the nappies feel a little thinner compared to pampers but the inside feels about the same as pampers so not rough. Much better value then pampers, I got a jumbo pack of 78 nappies for £4.75, that works out around 6p per nappy.
I put Violet into the Fred and flow nappy, they seemed to fit better around her legs, when she required another change I didn’t notice any red marks around her legs, so thumbs up for that!
The ultimate test – Tonight I decided to put the Fred and Flo nappies to the ultimate test and see how they are at night. Violet sleeps though the night now and always wakes up with a full nappy, we’ve never had a leak with pampers but Violet does now wake up feeling a little damp. Fingers crossed for a good result!
The ultimate test results – we had no leaks! Violet didn’t even wake up with nappy rash either and for once her clothes did not feel damp. The extra absorbency on these nappies really do make a difference.
I rate these nappies 9 out of 10 and would recommend them.
